About Kamil Larsson

Why I write

I’m Kamil Larsson, a writer born in Poland and raised mainly in Sweden. These are personal essays on understanding ourselves and living with others.

I became interested in understanding people partly because misunderstanding has followed me through different languages, countries and relationships.

Over time I became less interested in finding simple explanations for people and more interested in the space between intention and interpretation: what we notice, what we assume, what we fail to say, and what allows two people to remain themselves while still belonging to each other.

This website is where I explore those questions.

Between languages, places and people

I was born in Poland and raised mainly in Sweden. I have also lived in New York and Norway, and I am now based in Poland. Moving between languages and social contexts has made me attentive to how meaning changes with expectation and point of view.

The essays begin with ordinary experiences: a conversation that stays with us, a decision we cannot settle, the effort of fitting in, a boundary that feels harder to hold than to explain.

I write to examine those experiences carefully, leaving room for complexity and for what I have not yet understood.

One continuing exploration

The writing moves through six connected parts: inner life, emotional safety, boundaries, communication and repair, identity and belonging, and quiet leadership. The last asks what happens to the same questions when other people depend on our decisions.

The shorter notes are fragments from that same exploration.

About the writing

I write my essays and notes in English. The Polish and Ukrainian editions are translations of the English originals, making the same work available to readers in those languages. Where audio is available, it uses AI-generated narration.

I write and publish this collection under my own name. The essays and notes are personal reflections: they explore an experience or a question, rather than report breaking news.

Where an essay draws on research, the linked sources appear at the end, with references in the text. Those sources give context to the reflection; they do not make every personal interpretation a research finding.

Each essay carries its original publication date. When I revise it on a later day, a revised date appears alongside it. If you notice a factual error, a broken source or a passage that needs clarification, please write to me with the title and the passage.
